LAUNCH DRIVER

The Biddeford Pool Yacht Club is seeking a Launch Driver for the upcoming summer
season, from mid-June through Labor Day weekend.
Position Description:
The Launch Driver is responsible for transporting Club members and guests to and from
their boats, using the Club's two diesel launches. He/she is also expected to perform
routine maintenance around the Club and assist the Sailing Instructors and Club Manager
whenever necessary.
The Launch Driver is supervised by the Manager, with whom he/she works to insure the
smooth functioning and proper maintenance of the Club. There are also other launch
drivers and several Sailing Instructors at the Club.
Personal Attributes:
A candidate should be familiar with motorboats and be willing to interact constantly
with club members. He/she should be 18 or older, with experience or interest in working
with people and spending time on the water. An applicant must be a self-starter because
there is much to be done and not much time in which to do it.
Launch driving experience, a Coast Guard Limited Master's License and current C.P.R. and First Aid
certificates are required. We can help you to get the necessary
license.
Yacht Club:
Biddeford Pool Yacht Club is a small, 100 family private club on Saco Bay, about 20
miles south of Portland, Maine. The Club is located in the village of Biddeford Pool, a
small summer community which features a two-mile sandy beach, great natural beauty and a
strong sailing tradition. Biddeford Pool is within 10 minutes of Kennebunkport, 1/2 hour
of Portland, and 2 hours of Boston.
Beginners sail in fleets of Optimist Prams and Turnabouts, while more advanced sailors
sail Lasers, 420's and a fleet of Rhodes 18's.
Compensation:
Salary is competitive. Lodging is available in the Clubhouse and membership in the
local golf and tennis club is included with employment.
